Tidying Is a Child's First Lesson in "Management"
Almost every parent has experienced this: toys that were just put away are scattered all over the floor within five minutes. In Montessori education, "sense of order" is a crucial inner need for child development. An orderly environment provides children with security and a sense of control—the foundation for logical thinking.
Traditional toy storage—like a giant toy box—has a drawback: to find a single block at the bottom, children must dump everything out. This not only makes tidying difficult but may also cause children to lose focus and start new games, defeating the tidying goal entirely.
"Drop-in" Storage: Turning Organization into a Fun Game
